History From a DIfferent Perspective
I found this set of films to be utterly compelling. As a child, I watched the first steps on the moon live in grainy black and white. Watching them again in much higher quality is just amazing. Then there are the shots of erecting the flag and then the salute, taken from the window of the lander, providing a completely different viewpoint of the astronauts snapping that famous set of images- I got goosebumps watching that historical vignette unfold. And then the very last shot of the series, with Buzz Aldrin staring directly into the camera; a perfect footnote to one of the most historically significant events in all of human existence.
